Despite already announcing his retirement from coaching a couple of years ago, former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is reportedly gaining a ton of interest from a number of NFL teams.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, at least a couple of teams have apparently reached out to the 56-year old to take his knowledge on the sidelines to the professional ranks.
At least two NFL teams have reached out to Urban Meyer to see whether the former Ohio State coach would be interested in interviewing for — if not accepting — a head-coaching job at the next level, league sources told ESPN.
Meyer, according to a source connected to one of those teams, did not dismiss the overtures and is considering whether to make the jump to the NFL. He intends to decide in the next week, before the NFL regular season is over, and teams expect to hear his decision in the coming days.
Having won three national championships, Urban Meyer is definitely a coveted mentor to help steer a struggling franchise in the right direction.

The Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars could reportedly be among the teams seriously interested in bringing in Urban Meyer. Jaguars coach Doug Marrone's contract expires at the end of the season and given his unsuccessful three-year stint with the team, perhaps they could look in a different direction.
Meanwhile, the Lions fired coach Matt Patricia midway through the 2020 season and are on the search for their next head coach.
