Terrell Owens has already made it clear that he will not attend his own Hall of Fame induction ceremony on August 4. Instead, he’s announced his plans to give his acceptance speech at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

And now, the Hall of Fame has also announced its own plans for the ceremony with T.O. not in attendance.

According to Hall of Fame executive director Joe Horrigan, Owens will not be introduced for Friday night’s Gold Jacket ceremony, nor will he be announced the following night at Canton’s annual induction ceremony, said the Hall’s executive director, Joe Horrigan.

“The focus is on the guys who are here,” Horrigan told Clark Judge of the Talk of Fame Network.

Horrigan also revealed that with Owens not present to have his gold jacket put on him during the Friday dinner, his jacket will simply be mailed to him on Saturday.

Although, Owens’ name will still be included when the entire class is the subject and his image will also be included on all depictions of the Class of 2018. But since he won’t be there, the Hall has chosen not to mention him as an individual.

“There's no reason to bring him up as an individual,” said Horrigan. “He's not here.”

It shouldn’t be that much of a surprise that the Hall of Fame has decided to make that decision. Owens has opted not to attend the ceremony, so they’re not obligated to bring him up when he willingly didn’t choose to go.
