Jamaal Charles was once considered to be one of the NFL's best running backs during his days with the Kansas City Chiefs. Since the 2014 season, Charles has gone downhill and has bounced around a bit. He had stints with the Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and Jacksonville Jaguars in that time period.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Charles signed a deal with the Jaguars to help replace Leonard Fournette who has been dealing with hamstring issues this season. Jacksonville made the move to release Charles following their acquisition of Carlos Hyde from the Cleveland Browns.

In an Instagram post following his release, Charles hinted that he could be considering retiring from the NFL.

At 31 years old, Charles has had a huge career. He has suffered his share of injuries, which could be why he is considering retirement. Charles may be able to find another team to sign him, but he may be realizing that he is no longer the athlete that he once was.

In the two games that he played with the Jaguars, Charles carried the football six times for seven yards. He also caught two passes for seven yards.

Charles can hang up his cleats with a lot of pride in the years that he played. If he has played his last game, Charles will end up with 1,407 carries for 7,563 yards and 44 touchdowns. He will also have caught 310 passes for 2,593 yards and 20 touchdowns.

No matter what ends up happening, Charles made his mark on the NFL and will be remembered for quite some time for the superstar years that he had with the Chiefs.
