Whoever wins the NFC East this season could be hosting a first-round playoff game, which has rekindled the discussion of the NFL changing the current playoff format. Despite the uproar, the league is not interested in reseeding the playoffs, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

At this moment, the Dallas Cowboys are atop the NFC East with a less-than-stellar 6-7 record. Besides the Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles also have a chance to secure the division even though they are 5-7.

The Cowboys have lost three straight games and now boast a record that is under .500. Due to the recent play of the team, there has been plenty of rumors that Jason Garrett could be fired before the season concludes.

But one of the only reasons why he hasn't been is because there's a good chance that Dallas finds themselves in the postseason. However, it would take a deep playoff run for Garrett to salvage his job at this point.

Similarly to the Cowboys, the Eagles have also recorded three losses in a row after recently falling to the Miami Dolphins. The Eagles will have a chance to sneak into the playoffs as they face the New York Giants (twice), Cowboys, and Washington Redskins to end the season.

With the current playoff picture, the winner of the NFC East would host the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card game. Many fans and members of the media have given their two cents on what the league should do to correct this.

While everyone outside the league has issues with it, the NFL doesn't appear to believe it is a problem. Therefore, no changes to the playoff seeding are expected to be made in the coming years.
