The NFL schedule is set to drop later today, but there have already been leaks coming out for certain games. One of the more recent leaks has been the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Sources: The Super Bowl rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs is set for Week 2 in Kansas City, with kickoff at 4:25 PM ET on FOX,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
This will be a highly anticipated matchup, and it works out better that it's happening earlier in the season, so fans can have something to really look forward to as the year begins.
The last time these two teams saw each other, the Eagles were holding up the Lombardi Trophy as they defeated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts won MVP of the game for his performance, and the Eagles showed that they had the best team in the league. On offense, nobody could stop them with the help of Saquon Barkley, and their defense had one of the best lines in the league.
The Chiefs didn't have an answer for anything that the Eagles threw at them, and they couldn't get into a rhythm all game.
Both teams will look pretty much the same when they see each other next time, and Kansas City will be rocking since the game will be at home.
Patrick Mahomes and Hurts should put on a quarterback duel as they always do, and this may be a game that comes down to the wire. Many will be interested in how Travis Kelce performs, as he didn't have a great game during the Super Bowl, and the rumors started to swirl that he would be considering retirement after the season. Kelce eventually shut down those rumors and told the world that he would be returning.
The only thing left now is to see what the remainder of the schedule will be.
