We've all definitely heard it by now. The New England Patriots have found their Tom Brady replacement in former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

The moment that it was confirmed Brady would be moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the whispers immediately started about who they could possibly sign to fill in for arguably the greatest QB of all time. Given the circumstances, they could have obviously done much worse than Cam Newton.

The move is actually a historic one. As reported by Trey Wingo of ESPN, it puts the Patriots in the record books as the only team to ever add one former MVP, and lose another MVP within the same offseason.

Brady won his first MVP way back in 2007 and won it twice more in 2010 and 2017. Newton, meanwhile, won the award in 2015 when he led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl. But as we all know, both former MVPs are way past their prime years.

While Brady is off to find success in a new city, Newton is just hoping to round back into form. Their contracts certainly reflect that, with Brady slated to make north of $50 million over two years, while Newton would have to hit his performance incentives to receive his full $7.5 million for his one year deal with New England.

It'll be interesting to see how both players perform under new team colors this season, with the Patriots and Buccaneers expected to be in the playoff hunt in their respective conferences.
