With Trent Williams away from the Washington Redskins due to a grievance with the team's medical staff, the left tackle has been accruing multiple hefty fines.

Article Continues BelowBy skipping training camp and the first two weeks of the season, Williams now owes the Redskins $743,000 of pro-ration from his signing bonus. Williams also likely has accrued $1.2 million in fines — $40,000 a day for 30 days of missed training camp.
Williams has been at odds with the Redskins for some time, culminating in a preseason and training camp holdout, which has now stretched into the regular season. The seven-time Pro-Bowl tackle is an invaluable part of Washington's offensive line, meant to protect current quarterback Case Keenum, who was traded for a sixth-round pick by the Redskins in the offseason. Keenum is the starting signal-caller until Alex Smith can prove himself healthy after multiple fractures suffered in Week 11 game last season or rookie Dwayne Haskins—drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft—is up for the challenge.
Washington selected the 6-foot-5 tackle Williams with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 draft, and he has been a permanent fixture on the offensive line until the recent blow-up. At the moment, it looks like the Redskins will trade their 31-year-old tackle to the highest bidder, with a disgruntled Williams feasibly not returning to the gridiron in burgundy and gold ever again.
