The Washington Redskins selected Jonathan Allen in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and 17th overall. They promptly went 7-9 in his rookie year, and followed it up with another 7-9 season.
There it is. According to Alex Andrejev of the Washington Post, it took two years for the defensive end to get tired of losing and he's ready to change that.
Jonathan Allen is exactly the kind of player everyone should want on their team. He carries himself as a leader and puts up stats to back it up. Therefore, when he says he's tired of losing and wants to change the team's fortunes, it's impossible to not believe him.
Allen didn't put up big numbers his rookie year. He appeared in only five games due to injury and didn't have that large of a role, recording 10 tackles and one sack.

He's a menace in getting to the quarterback and great against the run. Most importantly, he has a high motor that he never seems to turn off.
Even bigger things could be in store for season three. Allen is part of a front seven that looks scary good. Joining him are Da'Ron Payne and Matthew Ioannidis on the defensive line. Ryan Kerrigan and Montez Sweat are the two linebackers who will haunt quarterbacks as well. There is nothing that group can't accomplish. Allen might be the “most ready to break out” star of the group (not counting Kerrigan, who is the veteran).
That means Allen could play a vital role on the team in 2019 and truly make a change. If he's sick of losing he'll need to step up, and it won't surprise me at all if he does.
Jonathan Allen has proven to others that he is a leader and someone the Washington Redskins should be thrilled to have on their team. He's sick of losing; that's good news for them — he won't rest until he changes that.
