Washington Redskins rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin and right guard Brandon Scherff will not play on Sunday against the New York Giants, John Keim of ESPN reports. McLaurin is suffering from a hamstring injury; he did not practice on Friday after being limited on Thursday. Scherff did not practice all week due to an ankle injury.

McLaurin leads Washington in receiving, as he has caught 16 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns. He set an NFL record for having five-plus receptions and a touchdown in one's first three games. Scherff, a two-time Pro-Bowler, is considered as Washington's best lineman in a post-Trent Williams world.
Article Continues BelowOn Friday, coach Jay Gruden mentioned that both McLaurin and Scherff would be game-time decisions. He noted that if McLaurin doesn't play, Robert Davis will see snaps at the split end as well as moving Trey Quinn around, either inside or out. Steven Sims and Kelvin Harmon both may see additional snaps on Sunday.
With Scherff out, Washington will turn to Wes Martin to take right guard duties. Starting center, Chase Roullier, is also out with a knee injury. Tony Bergstrom is expected to start in his place. In addition, Washington will be without tight end Jordan Reed, as he's battling a concussion.
Washington is 0-3 heading into their matchup with the 1-2 Giants, in New York. Losing their top wide receiver and offensive lineman could spell doom in a must-win matchup for coach Jay Gruden, who has the hottest seat of them all. Quarterback Case Keenum may be in trouble without key offensive starters in place too.
