It has been a tumultuous time in Washington for Williams who just revealed he suffered for Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans, a rare form of cancer that developed on his scalp. Team doctors failed to take Williams' concerns seriously until testing the growth.
In early June, Williams requested to be traded from the Redskins. The request is a culmination of team doctors failing to take Williams health concerns for the last six seasons, the teams inability to sign him to a contract, and the overall poor performance from the team recently.
Williams failed his recent physical after feeling discomfort trying to put his helmet on.
Washington is currently last in the NFC North with a 1-7 record with a interim head coach and inability in the front office.

“His heart's in the right spot,” Callahan said. “Trent loves football. Nobody loves football more, that's into it, that studies the game, that really gets into the matchups. There's no question he has a love and passion for playing football.”
It is unknown whether Williams will play another game with the Redskins, as the team can get assets for the seven-time Pro Bowler and one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL.
According to teammates, Williams appeared to be in good shape before taking his physical, but the pain he is dealing with his head had gotten in the way of getting out on the field.
