The Minnesota Vikings’ playoff odds were dealt a major blow with their home loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16, which quarterback Kirk Cousins sees was a “difficult” defeat.

The Vikings had their fair share of ups and downs over the course of the contest. For one, the Vikings defense notched a trio of interceptions off of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, which Cousins and the offense were able to score 10 points off of.

Still, Cousins did have his struggles in extending drives against the Jalen Ramsey-led Rams pass defense due to the Vikings’ 17 percent third down conversion percentage. More so, Cousins finished off only two of the Vikings' five red zone drives with touchdown scores.

After the game, Cousins reflected on this arduous defeat for Minnesota during his post-game press conference.

“Difficult loss at home,” Cousins said. “Certainly frustrated.”

This loss snapped the Vikings’ notable two-game winning streak, which had helped them climb back into the conversation for a wild-card spot in the NFC. More so, this defeat for Cousins and his team now has them on the outside looking in with the playoff picture in the conference.

The Vikings still have a shot at making a late playoff push. They would at the least need to pick up convincing wins over both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears in the final two weeks of the NFL regular season to give themselves a potent shot at achieving this feat.
