In news that appears old but is only surfacing now, Green Bay Packers tight end Lance Kendricks was cited for marijuana possession back in September.
The news came via TMZ.
According to the reports, Lance Kendricks was initially pulled over for driving 81 mph in a 70 mph zone. For those unaware of how math and the law work, that is pretty fast. Also, as an aside: I live in Pennsylvania. I wish we had such friendly speed zone laws.
Anyway, the officer who pulled him over reported “a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.” That gives the copper just cause to begin searching the vehicle and/or testing the person who he believes is on the weed.
Kendricks initially denied having any drugs, but then admitted he had marijuana in his glove compartment.
The tight end is the second member of the Green Bay Packers to find himself on the wrong side of the law as of recent history. Packers running back Aaron Jones was arrested in October under similar circumstances, with an officer pulling him over for speeding and Jones admitting he had smoked marijuana.

“Stay off the weed!”
I will never get sick of hearing Stephen A. Smith talk about staying off the green stuff.
As for Kendicks, the National Football League will certainly have something to say when this stuff continues to play out. If nothing else, we know the NFL really loves to govern what are legal matters that have nothing to do with football.
