The Philadelphia Eagles are going into Week 16 with high hopes of a potential playoff run. This is due to their much needed win against division rivals, the Washington Football Team, in Week 15. Despite the positive outlook going into Week 16, Philadelphia had a rough update on a major offensive player Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles took to social media to announce their Thursday injury report, which included running back Miles Sanders.

The rusher for Philadelphia did not practice on Thursday due to a quadricep injury. Earlier in the season, Sanders missed three games due to an ankle injury. He missed Week 8 through 10, and almost missed more time in Week 15. The running back irritated the ankle in the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets, but was able to rest and recover during their Week 14 bye.

If Sanders is unavailable for the Eagles' must-win game against the New York Giants on Sunday, it will be a huge loss to their run game. Last week, Sanders ran for 131 yards, breaking his record of 120 rushing yards in one game from Week 13.

On the other hand, running back Jordan Howard was a full participant at Thursday's practice. He returned to the game day field in Week 15 after missing three games due to a knee injury. If Sanders is unable to suit up on Sunday, Howard will most likely be the team's top rusher for the week.
