Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders recently took a hit in training camp. It was reported that he sustained a lower-body injury and will be observed on a week to week basis for the time being.

NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo tweeted the situation of Sanders' injury:

Sanders was one of the bright spots in the Eagles' rotation last season. As a rookie, he surpassed LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson for the most rushing yards by a rookie and the most all-purpose yards by a rookie in franchise history, respectively. He also set the franchise record for most yards from scrimmage by a rookie with 1,327.

In the NFC Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks, Sanders rushed 14 times for 69 yards during the 17-9 losing outcome.

He concluded his 2019 campaign with a total of 818 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to go along with 50 receptions for 509 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. He went on to be named in the PFWA All-Rookie Team by the end of last season.

His solid play and huge upside primed him to enter the upcoming season with a bigger role in the Eagles' offense. More load will be given to Sanders to help an Eagles side that is looking to repeat as NFC East divisional champions.

With his indefinite absence, third-year player Boston Scott and Super Bowl LII champion Corey Clement will be filling in to get reps with the rest of the starters.

The Eagles will be hoping that the running back can make it back in time for the team's buildup for their Week 1 matchup.
