The Los Angeles Rams have had an eventful NFL offseason that has seen them bring several more prominent pieces aboard to the puzzle that has pushed high expectations onto the franchise for the 2018 campaign.
However, the Rams were dealt a blow to their offensive line with starting right guard Jamon Brown being suspended for the first two games of the regular season due to violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.
Rams guard Jamon Brown has also been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2018 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

This has put Los Angeles at a bit of bind upfront on the offensive line with one of their starters out of the mix for the first two weeks of the season against the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals. The four-year offensive guard has developed into a dependable offensive lineman that has honed in on being a reliable option on the right side of the offensive line alongside Rob Havenstein in the last two seasons.
The Rams will now have to look for a temporary option with the likely candidate being Austin Blythe taking up those duties while Brown is out of the lineup. There is still plenty of time for the team to find a feasible game plan of how they will work around the situation that will likely begin in training camp with the coaching staff getting a better feel for the roster.
Brown is still eligible to participate in training camp and preseason games despite the suspension in place. The 25-year-old is in the final year of his four-year, $3.2 million rookie deal which has put some pressure on him to prove that he can be a long-term piece of the puzzle. This two-game ban hurts his case, but he will have the rest of the 2018 campaign to show that he can be a cornerstone for the franchise well beyond next season.
