With the injury-riddled 2017 NFL season finally coming to an end, it seems the Washington Redskins have already started to shift gears toward the offseason. Unfortunately for the Redskins, it holds much more questions than answers as of right now.
However, the one thing they are sure of is head coach Jay Gruden. Despite the disappointing year, Washington has no intention of parting ways with Gruden, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:
One coach to take off the hot seat, if he was ever on it: #Redskins coach Jay Gruden. There is a deep understanding of the injuries they battled and how he and his staff kept it together. Heading into Week 17, no plans for major changes in Washington, sources say.

Although the Redskins suffered through a disappointing year, they have still managed to conjure up a respectable 7-8 record going into the season finale versus the New York Giants after winning their last two games. While it may have been too little too late for Washington, it at least showed signs of promise for next year.
Part of the reason for the team's high expectations is largely because of what Gruden has done since coming over from the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014. Following his disastrous debut season in which the team went 4-12, Gruden helped turn it around the next year by going 9-7 and making the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Redskins have been unable to get over the hump since. However, it seems Washington is more than willing to give Gruden another chance after all the key injuries the team had endured throughout the season.
