The Seattle Seahakws fan base would probably like some clarity in regard to the injuries of both Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril. Some good news on that front, as head coach Pete Carroll claims that is exactly what is coming down the pipe.
“There will be some clarity,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters, via Pro Football Talk. “Yes. We are just respecting their process and what is right for them and so we just continue to kind of just report where they are right now and leave it at that. There will be some things happening before too long. I know that is not what you want to hear and you want to know more, but that is just kind of the way we are handling it to help them.”
What makes these injury reports interesting are the severity of both.
Kam Chancellor has, at the very least, a season ending injury. As for Cliff Avril, his is a potential career ending sort of injury. Both aren't ideal, obviously.
What makes this as unfortunate is that both players are important members of both the National Football League franchise as well as the community. This is a big blow in terms of on-the-field play and off-the-field importance.
Here is to hoping that whatever the severity of the injuries are for both guys, that each make as full recovery as possible and that their quality of life isn't altered too much by it. Life after football is as important as life while still in it.
