It goes without saying that the Seattle Seahawks underwent a major overhaul of their roster this offseason. Among the notable additions they made was that of wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
Marshall was seen by many as a bit of a longshot to stick around in Seattle. However, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson, head coach Pete Carroll is pleased with the connection he is building with quarterback Russell Wilson:
It is encouraging to see that Marshall has taken the initiative to get on the same page as Wilson. Needless to say, it hs not gone unnoticed by Carroll. It has resulted in him getting first-team reps on offense in practice this week.
Marshall has had some trouble finding his footing after a tumultuous stint in the Big Apple. It started with his unceremonial departure from the New York Jets and ultimately resulted in a lost year with the New York Giants. That said, it seems Marshall is taking advantage of the little stability that is left in Seattle thanks to Wilson.
The Seahawks need all the help they can get with wide receiver Doug Baldwin likely out for the preseason with an injured knee. Marshall will have a chance to establish an integral role for himself in this offense.
