Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Chance Warmack will apparently go two seasons without playing a single down of regulation NFL football. Warmack has now become the third NFL player to opt-out of the upcoming 2020 campaign due to the ongoing “coronavirus” that continues to sweep through the United States.
In addition to Warmack, Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Baltimore Ravens return specialist De'Anthony Thomas have also elected to sit out for the 2020 season. Every NFL player currently has the option of sitting out for the upcoming season due to the concerns surrounding the aforementioned “coronavirus.”
#Seahawks OL Chance Warmack will be taking a voluntary opt-out for this season, source says. The former 10th overall pick, who sat out last season, had signed with Seattle in the spring.

The Tennessee Titans originally selected the 28-year-old Warmack in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Alabama. Remaining with the Titans for the duration of his four-year rookie contract, though his fifth-year option was not picked up by Tennessee, Warmack then went on to spend another two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before remaining on the sidelines for the 2019-20 season. Warmack most recently signed with the Seahawks back in March as has yet to suit up for the NFC West franchise formally.
The Seahawks have created more than a few headlines this week as the team notably acquired former New York Jets Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams via trade. As a result of such a move, the Seahawks have now become a legitimate threat in the NFC West division alongside the new-look Arizona Cardinals and defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers. The NFC West has become arguably the toughest division in the league, with August rapidly approaching.
