The Seattle Seahawks have pushed into action their plan to reshape the roster, which is mostly focused on the defensive side of the ball with some key players. Among those names mentioned as possibly being moved has been All-Pro safety Earl Thomas, who is set to enter the final year of his four-year, $40 million deal.
He will earn $10.4 million in both salary and bonuses for the 2018 season. Despite this chatter, Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network is reporting that the Seahawks now intend to keep him aboard for at least next season.

There had been previous reports that the team was going to listen to offers for him with the desire to possibly acquire 2018 draft picks in exchange in any deal. However, it appears the pending decision to move on from both cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane in the coming days has shifted the team back in the direction of keeping Thomas with the franchise.
The 28-year-old has been one of their centerpieces defensively as a primary part of the “Legion of Boom,” establishing himself as one of the top safeties in the league.

Thomas dealt with nagging injuries over the last few seasons, but he has remained a highly dependable defensive player who is coming off yet another productive season 88 total tackles and a pair of interceptions in 14 games played. Along the way, he has earned six Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.
It has been a back-and-forth dialogue concerning Thomas' long-term future with the franchise, as he has voiced that he would like to work out a new extension with the Seahawks. Meanwhile, he has also stated that he would possibly entertain joining the Dallas Cowboys in free agency if he reaches the open market.
All of this should be sorted out in the coming weeks after the expected changes to the roster.
