The Seattle Seahawks are wasting no time with their newly acquired superstar Jamal Adams. However, they may have acted too eagerly.
After being acquired over the weekend, the Seahawks apparently booked Adams on an early cross-country flight to make his way to the Pacific Northwest as early as possible. Maybe a little early for the safety's liking.
In a quickly deleted tweet, Adams seemingly complained about his 7:00 am flight from New York.
“I love you guys already @Seahawks but damn y’all didn’t have to put the kid on a 7am flight… Damn lol,” Jamal Adams initially tweeted, per the New York Post.
Jamal Adams' move to Seattle has been all over the news over the past couple of days. His three-year stay with the New York Jets ended on a sour note, as the two-time Pro Bowler requested for a trade over a month ago due to contract extension disputes. He finally got what he wanted when the Seahawks swooped in and acquired the superstar (and a 2022 fourth-round pick) for two future first-round picks, a 2021 third-round pick and safety Bradley McDougald.
The Seahawks have acquired a potential key piece for their defensive line. As a member of last year's All-Pro First-Team, Adams was a beast for the Jets' defense. He averaged a career high of 6.5 sacks in 14 games (and starts) for New York.
Adams was also named Curtis Martin Team MVP for the Jets for the second straight year. With that said, he will surely be a welcome addition to Seattle's roster.
The 24-year-old is expected to take his physical with the Seahawks on Monday. Hopefully, the safety isn't too jetlagged by then.
