The Seattle Seahawks have won only one game this season by more than a touchdown, and coach Pete Carroll wishes it wasn't that way.

The only game they won by double digits was during Week 4 when the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-10. The Seahawks and Cardinals will face off again on Sunday, and Carroll hopes this is another one of those blowout wins.

“I love close games,” Carroll said, via the team’s website. “I think they help you. They make you stronger. They keep you in the game longer. They make you have to focus farther, and it prepares you for more kinds of things that can happen that you need background and experience in. It would really be OK if we could win by a lot sometimes. That’d be fun.”

It's always good to win by as many points as possible but there is no doubt the Seahawks are going to be battle-tested when the playoffs roll around. Bobby Wagner knows that all the close games are going to be valuable because of how competitive the playoffs are.

“I think that’s the most valuable thing that you can do is, learn how to win in different scenarios,” Wagner said. “… That’s where you get your confidence, you grow your confidence as you get to the end of the season and get to the playoff run. You have those games where you’re down 10 or down seven and when you’ve been in that situation so many times, you believe in yourself, you believe in your team that you’re going to pull it out.

The Seahawks control their own destiny to win the NFC West, and the hope is these next two games can be pretty easy victories, although they probably won't be with how the rest of the season has played out.
