Seattle Seahawks star Russell Wilson has played the first decade of his career in the Emerald City. The location of where his 11th season will be played still remains a mystery, however, Seahawks fans everywhere are breathing a little easier after their quarterback's comments on Friday. In an interview on Mad Dog Sports Radio, Wilson eluded to his future in Seattle.

That isn't the wind, it's the collective sigh of relief coming from the entire state of Washington and Seahawks fans everywhere.

Wilson, who will be 34 at the end of the 2022 season, has publicly maintained that his goal is to “win more Super Bowls”. Speculation regarding potential trades for the superstar quarterback resurfaced at the end of the regular season following the Seahawks' meager 2021 campaign. Rumors about frustration with the front office fueled that speculation, leading to the inevitable concern that Wilson could be donning a different jersey next season.

Wilson subdued those fears with his comments on Friday.

“I’ve been fortunate to be able to play 10 amazing years in Seattle,” Wilson said. “My hope and goal is to be back there and keep winning there. That’s the vision, that’s the goal. That’s always been it, never been anything different.”

With his contract currently sporting a no-trade clause, Wilson has reportedly given the Seahawks a list of teams he would potentially waive that clause for. Should one of those possible suitors come knocking, it is not out of the realm of possibility Wilson could go back on his comments before the start of the 2022 season.
