The Seattle Seahawks were dealt dual blows in their Thursday Night Football duel with the Los Angeles Rams. The first, and more obvious one, was the defeat on the scoreboard. The second one was a much more grotesque involving Russell Wilson's finger.

The Seahawks quarterback's throw was met at the apex by Rams defender Aaron Donald, who slapped down with much force in an attempt to knock the ball loose. Instead, he seemed to knock Wilson's finger loose more than just a bit.

According to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Wilson is dealing with a “badly sprained finger.” Carroll did offer a more positive spin on things, calling Wilson an “all-time healer.” He's certainly been that throughout his career given that he's never even missed a single start in 10 years thus far.

Carroll also revealed a bit of news that definitely points to the severity of the injury. The Seahawks coach admitted Russell Wilson can't even hold the football.

That does not sound good. Wilson also was not made available to speak to reporters after the game, which was a first of his career, due to the team tending to his injury.

The Seahawks at least get 10 days to get Russell Wilson ready for their next game. Whether or not that's going to be enough remains to be seen.
