The Seattle Seahawks will be squaring off against a familiar face this week in Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, and Quarterback Russell Wilson says he still has plenty of love for the former Seahawk.
The two enjoyed plenty of success together during Seattle's championship years. So it should come as no surprise that Wilson had nothing but praise for Lynch during his press conference, via the team's official website:
There is certainly plenty of truth to Wilson's praise. Lynch established himself as the premier power back of his generation. As a result, he became one of the most entertaining players to watch thanks to his raw power and refusal to go down. Needless to say, Wilson had the best seat in the house.
However, things have changed quite a bit since Lynch's departure. Russell Wilson has now become the focal point of Seattle's offense. The Seahawks have had some trouble finding a viable replacement to serve as their workhorse. Despite their struggles, they still boast one of the best rushing attacks in the league.
Meanwhile, Marshawn Lynch has taken on an integral role in Oakland's offense. He gave fans a vintage performance in Week 4 versus the Cleveland Browns. He is hoping to show Seattle that he still has plenty left in the tank this Sunday.
