The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a deal with free-agent kicker Jason Myers, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN.com.

Myers spent the 2018 campaign with the New York Jets and had a terrific year, converting on 33 of his 36 field-goal attempts, going 6-of-7 from 50 yards or longer and nailing a 56-yarder. He also made 30 of his 33 extra points and made the Pro Bowl as a result.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Marist, went undrafted but eventually signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March 2015.

He ended up earning the Jaguars' starting job that ensuing season, making 26 of his 30 field-goal tries and going 3-of-4 from 50 yards or more. He also made a 58-yard boot, but he struggled a bit in extra points, missing seven of them.

The following season, Myers went 27-of-34 in field goals, making seven of his 12 attempts from 50 yards or greater, including a 56-yarder. In addition, he was a bit better on extra points, going 29-for-32.

Then, in 2017, Myers remained with Jacksonville through the middle of October before being cut. In his six games before being released, Myers made 11 of 15 field goals, missing all three of his attempts from 50 yards. He went 15-of-17 on extra points.

He then signed with the Seahawks last January, but was waived by Seattle in August. That was when he joined the Jets and ultimately had the best season of his career and one of the best years of any kicker in the NFL in 2018.

The Seahawks won 10 games and lost in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs this past season.
