Is a reunion on the horizon? Josh Gordon suiting up for the Seattle Seahawks is a big possibility, according to ESPN Seattle’s John Clayton.
“[Aldon Smith’s] return could open the door on at least two more suspensions being resolved; Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory and wide receiver Josh Gordon, who spent most of the 2019 season with the Seahawks.”
Gordon averaged 19.9 receiving yards in five games with Seattle last season. He was suspended indefinitely by the league shortly after the Seahawks’ campaign ended due to his fifth violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs and substance abuse policy.
“Flash” is still residing, and based on his tweets, enjoying his time in Seattle. His recent Instagram post showed him working out with the hopes of making a return to the Seahawks.
If former quarterback Jake Heaps were to be asked, it looks like the interest between Gordon and the Seahawks is mutual.
“I think that they’re in a really great spot to take a chance on Josh Gordon, said Heaps in an interview last March. “And even before all the action that happened in terms of signing Greg Olsen and all that, all the conversation within that organization was that they really enjoyed their time with Josh Gordon in the sense of who he was every single day, the talent that he was.”
Heaps, by conversation’s end, sounded adamant in his claim that it is only a matter of time when Gordon dons a Seahawks jersey anew.
“From my understanding, they’re going to have zero hesitation bringing him back if he’s available. A guy with that kind of talent and with that little of responsibility, I’m perfectly OK with that situation.”
