The Seattle Seahawks released backup quarterback Trevone Boykin shortly after a report came out accusing him of domestic violence.

Boykin’s girlfriend, Shabrika Baily, reportedly told police that he and the former Seahawks player got into an altercation which left her bloodied and with a broken jaw.

“So he goes into a choke. I remember him choking me and I’m trying to calm him down. And I just couldn’t. And I blacked out. I just couldn’t calm him down at all,” Shabrika Bailey said in an interview with WFAA. “The pressure was just hard. The pressure got hard to where I just remember just collapsing completely. And I just woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor. My whole right side was full of blood on the kitchen floor.”

This domestic violence allegation is not the first time Boykin has been in trouble with the law. In college, he was charged with assaulting a public servant, public intoxication, and resisting arrest when he punched a patrol officer during a bar fight.

And just last year, he was arrested for misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and public intoxication after he was in a car driven by Bailey that struck pedestrians while backing up at high speeds. He was also arrested a few days later for a possible parole violation.

Boykin, who went undrafted in 2016, has appeared in just five games with no starts during his two-year NFL career while backing up Russell Wilson. But with this latest serious accusation adding to an already checkered history, it’s possible that his days as an NFL player may be over.
