The Seattle Seahawks desperately need a capable running back after all of their capable backs were hit with injuries late in the season. This brings the name of Marshawn Lynch into the forefront of talks of being the Seahawks' last-minute replacement.
With the injuries to two of their key runners and the playoffs close to starting, Seattle doesn't have a lot of options to go for heading into the postseason. And given that they know what Lynch can offer the team, he's the no-brainer addition for the team.
However, Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk revealed that the man may not even be interested in returning to the Seahawks.
There were reports this offseason that he’d be interested in returning to the Raiders, but that call never came. He was recently at the Seahawks facility, but just to visit old friends.
He may or may not be interested, and he may or may not have anything left in the tank.
But the Seahawks may or may not have many better options, after losing Rashaard Penny to a torn ACL two weeks ago, and then Chris Carson (hip) and C.J. Prosise (broken arm) last night. They worked out Robert Turbin and Alfred Blue recently.
In Lynch's final season before his retirement, he only managed 376 rushing yards due to injuries. However, his final year with the Seahawks saw him finish with 1,306 rushing yards and a league-leading 13 rushing touchdowns.
Of course, it's impossible to expect these numbers from him as he's already on the decline physically. However, his experience would be a great addition to the Seahawks if the two sides do reunite.
