The Seattle Seahawks moving on from Russell Wilson is the end of a very successful era. Now, they have to get right back to work finding someone to replace him.
There are plenty of options for Seattle. There was some speculation around Deshaun Watson but nothing materialized. Another team failing to trade for Watson provided a target for the Seahawks, though. According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports and USA Today, they are looking into a trade for Baker Mayfield, who officially requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns.
I'm told the #Seahawks have discussed exploring acquiring Baker Mayfield at quarterback, per league sources.

Mayfield has thrown for at least 3,500 yards and 22 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons but was brutal last year. He threw 17 touchdowns against 13 interceptions in 14 games. His falling out with Odell Beckham Jr. doomed his chances of showing the Browns he was a surefire franchise player. Cleveland's pursuit of Watson led Mayfield to profess his love for the city and admit that his relationship with the team is beyond repair.
Right now, Drew Lock seems like the likely starter for the Seahawks. Seattle received him from the Denver Broncos, along with tons of other assets, for Wilson. Mayfield is the superior quarterback but the Browns have said that they won't honor his request. However, if the Seahawks offer a significant package for the first overall pick, the Browns may trade him. The relationship between the Browns and Mayfield is definitely frayed and Seattle could take advantage of it.
