The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to deal with the injury bug. This time, it's even extended to the coaching staff as head coach Bruce Arians has suffered a major injury.
The Buccaneers head coach has ruptured his Achilles, per report from NFL insider Jay Glazer.
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians ruptured his Achilles’ tendon, been trying to keep it under wraps but aggravated it last week.
The plan is reportedly for Bruce Arians to battle through the injury and postpone surgery until after the Bucs season. With Tom Brady and Tampa Bay keen on defending their Super Bowl crown, having the head coach that got them there on the sidelines is of utmost importance.
Article Continues BelowHowever, if the problem lingers and the Bucs coach potentially ruptures his Achilles entirely, he will need to have surgery straight away, else risk further damage.
Right now it’s a partial rupture but giving him problems and if it fully ruptures he will need immediate surgery.
Bruce Arians is still expected to coach the Buccaneers for their Week 17 tilt against the New York Jets. With teams jockeying for postseason positioning, there's still a lot to play, as well as coach for in the final two weeks of the season.
