DeSean Jackson has had a big season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it did not stop him from wanting out ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Reports came out that Jackson requested a trade from the team, but they did not end up moving him. Instead, Jackson will have to play out the rest of the 2018 season and then make a decision about what he wants to do in the future.

In an interview with Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times, Jackson did not deny that he asked Tampa Bay for a trade before the deadline.

“Whatever them conversations were, they were between us. It’s over and done with now, and I’m looking forward. We’ve got eight games left to continue to try our best to get in the playoffs and win here.”

He also opened up about the reported frustration that he had with things that were going on with the Buccaneers.

“I don’t see it as frustration. It’s just knowing what’s in this locker room, knowing the players we have all across the board, and knowing how talented it can be. It did show early on. That’s the frustration. So not being able to have the results the past three or four games, whatever the number is, that’s been more of the frustration for me.”

Throughout the eight games that he has played this season with the Buccaneers, Jackson has caught 28 passes for 626 yards and four touchdowns.

Tampa Bay still has a chance to get into the playoff picture if they can get back to the way they were playing to begin the season. They are currently 3-5, which has them dead last in the NFC South.

Expect to see Jackson continue putting up numbers throughout the remainder of the season. Ryan Fitzpatrick is back as the starting quarterback, which bodes well for his potential production moving forward.
