The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ worst fears about starting linebacker Kwon Alexander’s knee injury have been confirmed. An MRI on Monday has confirmed that the Pro Bowler has indeed torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

Alexander suffered the injury just before halftime during Sunday’s overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns. He went down without contact as he was blitzing Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Alexander, 24, is a former fourth-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2015. He’s started all 46 games he’s appeared in over his first four years in the league, making 380 tackles with six interceptions and seven sacks. He put up 45 tackles with two forced fumbles and a sack in six games this season.
Article Continues BelowHe’s on the final year of his rookie deal and was hoping to secure a new long-term deal. But with his injury, he now faces an uncertain future heading into free agency this offseason.
To make matters worse for the Bucs, they have also lost rookie linebacker Jack Cichy to a torn ACL. It's the second time he's torn an ACL after he suffered the injury in his other knee just last year.
The Buccaneers are now down to Lavonte David, Devante Bond, Adarius Taylor, and Cameron Lynch as their linebackers currently on the active roster.
