Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is set to meet a familiar foe in the opening round of the NFL playoffs, as he will face the Philadelphia Eagles.

Over the course of his career, Brady has had the last laugh against rivals a multitude of times, such as was the case in his clashes with the Ben Roethlisberger-led Pittsburgh Steelers during his run with the New England Patriots. Now, Brady will look to do just that against the Eagles – a team that was triumphant in Super Bowl 52.

In speaking during a press conference ahead of the game, Brady was asked on what he does to turn it up a notch for the playoffs, especially for an opponent like the Eagles. For the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback, it is all about urgency.

“I feel like I always try to give everything I have,” Brady said. “I feel like I always try to. I think naturally just the urgency goes up because there's more energy around what we're doing, there's more energy on the field and everyone wants to come back and play in these games.

“You've got to feel the urgency and you've got to go out there and you've got to get the job done.”

The Buccaneers offense had quite a bit of turnaround over the regular season, especially as wideouts Chris Godwin (torn ACL) and Antonio Brown (cut) will not be available for their upcoming playoff run. Brady much credits several depth players who stepped up to the calling this season.

“It's evolved a lot,” Brady said. “A lot of guys have gotten different snaps. You just look at the running backs on the roster, look at the receivers on the roster – a lot of guys have come and gone.

“We've added a bunch of different guys. ‘BP' (Breshad Perriman) is playing a role, we just added someone to our practice squad today (John Brown), guys have been on and off the practice squad. You've just got to do the best you can do, show up for work every day, try to work with everybody, throw to everybody, communicate to everybody – we're all in the same meetings – and build up some trust over the course of the season.”

Brady guided the Buccaneers offense to a standout campaign, as it finished second in both points per game (30.1) and yards per game (405.9) behind the Dallas Cowboys. A win for the Buccaneers over the Eagles could possibly end up setting them up with a playoff matchup against the Cowboys in the following week.
