Rob Gronkowski already hung them up then came back and played again. This time around, he might just retire altogether. The free agent, who would be welcomed back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with open arms, has truly not decided if he'll run it back with Tom Brady in 2022.
He even avoided catching passes at a charity event recently because it would make him want to get on the field again.
“I knew if I started catching some passes that my head would have started turning, like, ‘Oh, crap, I got to get back out on the field,'” Gronk said. “And, right now, I'm not ready to get back out on that field. I'm not ready to commit to the game of football right now.”
The ex-Buccaneers star would definitely be able to land a contract with his former team as soon as he makes a decision, but Gronk clearly isn't willing to commit to football right now. After all, he's dealt with a boatload of different injuries and his body is beaten up.
With training camp still a couple of months away, he definitely has more than enough time to make a final decision on his NFL future. For now, Rob Gronkowski is just enjoying life.
