Per Brandon Robinson in Heavy.com on the huge news story featuring the Buccaneers:

“What they should have did with Tom out of respect, say to him I love you, I’m going to give you a one year deal. And we’re going to make this your thank you time. I’ve never seen that in ceremonies where they bring out the old guys. And say Tom I know you want 30 million. We’re going to give you 30 million you done a lot, you might not start, because we gotta start getting younger. They should have that respectful conversation with him rather than not talking to him at all….”

Before coming to the Buccaneers, Brady, now 42, was selected by the Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft—around the same time O'Neal, 48, was winning the first of three consecutive NBA championships as the MVP of the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 20 years with the Patriots, Brady guided the team to 18 division titles and six Lombardi Trophies, making last week's decision to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency all that more unbelievable.

O'Neal — who has commented on the new quarterback of the Buccaneers — started his career with the Orlando Magic, winning Rookie of the Year. Now Tom Brady will move to Florida to continue his own storied athletic career.

Brady inked a two-year, $50 million deal with the Buccaneers.

The sports world is waiting to see how the Buccaneers fare with an iconic athlete widely regarded as the greatest NFL quarterback who has ever lived.
