The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly interested in current Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly for their vacant head coaching position.

Tampa Bay fired former head coach Dirk Koetter earlier in the week after going 19-29 overall in his three years on the job.

Now, like several other teams around the NFL, the Bucs are in the middle of a coaching search that will decide how quickly they may be able to get back on track in trying to become an NFC contender once again.

And it sounds like Kelly is emerging as a possible candidate, according to David Haugh of 670 The Score:

Kelly is 60-34 in his nine seasons with the Fighting Irish, and he has popped up as a potential NFL coaching candidate throughout the years due to his success at the college level.

This is undoubtedly going to be a crucial hire for the Bucs, as the NFC South figures to see a big upswing next year with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers likely to rebound following disappointing seasons.

And, of course, the New Orleans Saints should continue to be a Super Bowl contender as they enter this year's playoffs as the top seed in the NFC.

The Bucs will hope that one of the candidates on their list will be able to come in right away and make the necessary changes to help this franchise head back in the right direction.
