The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snapped their lengthy NFC South division title drought in Week 16 following their key road win over the Carolina Panthers.

The Buccaneers had a grand opportunity to clinch the division at home last week in their Sunday Night Football encounter with the New Orleans Saints. In the end, the Buccaneers posted an offensive performance to forget as they were shutout in the 9-0 loss.

A week later, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady anchored a performance that many have been accustomed to seeing from the reigning Super Bowl champions. Overall, the Buccaneers offense had itself a bounce-back showing, as it recorded 391 total yards and notched seven scoring drives against the Panthers.

Even as Brady finished as a division winner a multitude of times during his run with the New England Patriots, he does not take such achievements for granted, which he touched on following the Buccaneers’ NFC South win over the Panthers.

“I'm not taking anything for granted,” Brady said. “Winning the division is hard to do. We've earned it. We are 11-4, it's not the greatest record in the world, but it's certainly not the worst either.

“11-4, I'll take it. We've lost some tough games, I think we've learned from each of those tough losses. Everything is ahead of us.”

As Brady opened up about, the job is not finished for the Buccaneers, even as they are now NFC South champions for the first time since 2007. They still have a chance to finish the campaign with the No. 1 seed in the NFC, although they would at the least need to see the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions come away with upset wins over the Green Bay Packers in the final two weeks of the regular season.

For now, the Buccaneers will have their final road game of the regular season next week against the New York Jets.
