Two days after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a plethora of roster moves to reduce their roster to 53 players; they are still making some minor tweaks. Tampa Bay signed former Atlanta Falcons running back Tony Brooks-James to their practice squad on Monday.

Brooks-James signed with the Falcons earlier in the offseason as an undrafted rookie. The rookie running back out of Oregon spent the entire preseason with Atlanta before being released by the team on Saturday.

In the four preseason games he played in, Brooks-James rushed for 180 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns. The former Duck saved his best for last as he rushed for 137 yards and two scores in the Falcons' preseason finale versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.

There's no doubt that Buccaneers' head coach Bruce Arians took that game into account when signing him to the practice squad. However, Brooks-James will have to prove himself if he hopes to be promoted from the practice squad this season.

At Oregon, the newly signed running back for the Buccaneers amassed 1,863 yards and 18 touchdowns in four seasons with the program. His best season at the collegiate level came in 2016; when he carried it 101 times for 771 yards and nine touchdowns.

As for Tampa Bay, they currently boast a backfield that contains Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones, and Dare Ogunbowale. Considering that the team finished with the 29th ranked rushing offense in 2018; there is room for improvement this year.

Along with Brooks-James, the Buccaneers also added tackle Brad Seaton to their practice squad. Seaton spent this preseason with the Cleveland Browns.
