In a relatively shocking move, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are shutting down quarterback Jameis Winston for a few weeks. This comes, at least reportedly, as a result of the gunslinger needing to get some rest for his shoulder.

This is obviously unfortunate news for the Buccaneers. At the same time, it is as unfortunate for the young signal-caller. Jameis Winston wasn't exactly having the season he was hoping for and could have certainly used more time on the field.

Players often get better by using experience to get better. It doesn't inherently mean that experience has to be gained during winning seasons. Clearly, the Buccaneers have not been good this season, but it doesn't mean Winston couldn't have parlayed more time on the field into success for next year.

While there's no definitive set time-table for a return, don't be incredibly shocked if Winston ends up being done for the year. Depending on the severity of the injury, if the Bucs continue to falter, it wouldn't make a ton of sense to rush him back from an issue in a season that is already lost.

To lighten up the mood a bit, here is Winston giving the weirdest and worst pregame speech in the history of humans speaking words.

That sure is … something. I don’t know what thing. But a thing, for sure.

My favorite part of that video is the rest of the team being equally as confused as I am and a teammate not looking thrilled to give him some dap after Winston had his fingers in his mouth.
