The Tennessee Titans and center Ben Jones agreed to an extension on Friday. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal will be worth $13.5 million over two years; locking him up through 2021.

The Titans signed Jones to a four-year $17.5 million contract in 2016 to pry him away from division rival Houston Texans in 2016. Since then, the former Georgia Bulldog has been a stalwart of the Titans offense; doing his most work at center.

Since his arrival to Tennessee, Jones has played and started in 64 games — not missing one game in four seasons. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed 5 sacks in 2018 and earned 3 penalties. He also posted an overall PFF grade of 69.8 for the year.

Though Jones is a center for Tennessee, he possesses position versatility. In Houston, he played all over the line, including right guard, left guard, and center. Head coach Mike Vrabel views that as a key element to his game, as he said on Tuesday, per the Tennessean's Erik Bacharach:

“I think when you look at Ben’s (Jones) personality, he’s got a great reach in the locker room, he’s got a great ability to reach a lot of different players and a lot of different positions,” Vrabel said. “I think first of all that that’s unique. He’s a very instinctive and aware player. He’s a very smart football player and I would say that his number one redeeming quality is his toughness. So, when you combine all those things together, I think you could play multiple positions.”
