The NFL has experienced a slew of bad news on Wednesday as it relates to COVID-19. Numerous players have tested positive for the virus, including New England Patriots star cornerback Stephon Gilmore. The Tennessee Titans had seemingly been making strides after an outbreak postponed their Week 4 bout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but this weekend's matchup with the Buffalo Bills is now in doubt after two more positive tests.

Wednesday afternoon, the Titans added wide receiver Corey Davis to the reserve/COVID-19 list. The addition of Davis means the Titans now have nine rostered players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, as well as three players on the practice squad.

It remains to be seen whether Tennessee will be able to play against the Bills on Sunday. Dianna Russini of ESPN noted it is possible the Titans will have to forfeit due to the inflexibility of Buffalo's schedule:

“The #Titans are in a difficult position for many reasons,” Russini tweeted Wednesday. “The #Bills play next Thursday night against the Chiefs. Moving Bills/Titans game to Monday seems impossible with this schedule. Canceling or forfeiting may be the only options.

Davis' individual status is also in question.

The 25-year-old's season got off to a strong start in Week 1, as Davis had seven catches for 101 yards in a win over the Denver Broncos. Davis then found the end zone in Week 2, and he also had five catches for 69 yards in Week 3. He's the team's leading receiver.

Titans fans had reason for optimism after a 3-0 start, but there has to be added concern with Davis joining Tennessee's ever-growing list of players on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
