If you had Minnesota Vikings kicker Kai Forbath trashing the Washington Redskins, you win a fictional prize. Although, it is worth noting that the wasn't really bashing the Redskins as much as he was calling the team's playing surface a debacle.

“It’s dirt and they spray-paint it green,” Forbath said, via the St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson. “It’s just not good grass.

“The field isn’t the best, but fortunately I’ve kicked there enough times to where I feel comfortable going out there. It’s not an unknown surface to me. I heard it’s not in the best shape now, but we’ll see. … I had an issue with it when I was there, and I’ve heard it hasn’t changed much.”

For some context, there is built in bad blood here, as Kai Forbath actually played for the Washington Redskins all the way back in 2015. However, the team would cut him after only a single game.

The Redskins’ old home field, RFK Stadium, has had other issues this season. Earlier in the year, in a game against the Dallas Cowboys, rain was leaking into the press box area.

It is obviously worth mentioning that players not on the Vikings have complained about the field over the years. That, basically, it is a dangerous place to play because the turf is a hazard.

Other places in the National Football League — mostly the stadiums that allow colleges to play the day prior to pro games — have similar issues. It is amazing, honestly, that a billion dollar organization such as the NFL fails in making sure ALL playing surfaces are as safe as possible.
