The Washington Commanders enter the 2022 NFL Draft with needs to fill on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, specifically in the secondary and at wide receiver. Washington is armed with the 11th pick in the first round, an enviable place to be given the bevy of prospects available for the taking in that slot. While the Commanders did trade for quarterback Carson Wentz, they could opt to select his potential successor with that pick. They could also opt to get Wentz more help on the offensive line, if someone like top prospect Charles Cross is available for the taking. While these options are great- and a defensive stud like safety Kyle Hamilton would be ideal if he falls to the 11th pick- there's one player who makes too much sense for the Commanders: wide receiver Drake London. Here's why London is the perfect fit for the Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft.

3 Reasons Why Drake London Is Perfect Fit For Commanders

3. London is the big-bodied receiver the Commanders need

London, who is 6-feet 4 inches tall, is a physical receiver who excels in jump ball situations. Besides Antonio Gandy-Golden, who has been unable to make much of an impact for Washington, the Commanders lack a big-bodied wideout who can make plays. That's where London, who, has a basketball background, comes in. He would instantly give the Commanders and Wentz the red zone target they need. Commanders fans can likely envision London and Terry McLaurin on the outside with Curtis Samuel occupying the slot.

2. London could help Terry McLaurin be more efficient

Terry McLaurin is the best wide receiver the Commanders have. McLaurin is also the team's only real threat on the outside. As a result, the talented wide receiver attracts a fair amount of defensive attention, something that likely would not occur as much if there was someone else on the outside who defenses had to respect. London, who totaled 88 receptions for over 1000 yards and seven touchdowns for USC as a junior, could be that guy. As more of a big-bodied possession receiver- who can also take defenders deep- London would be a natural complement to McLaurin while helping to take some of the defensive attention away from him.

1. London would be good for Wentz

London, who led the FBS with 19 contested catches this past season, would be a prime target for Wentz, who has had some accuracy issues in past seasons. The USC product has the hands, size and athleticism to haul in throws . He also fits the mold of receivers that Wentz has built good rapports with in his career, such as Alshon Jeffery and Michael Pittman Jr. London would be a great target for Wentz to throw to.
