The Washington Commanders just can't catch a break. The organization has faced backlash from fans, opposing franchises, and even the government for their questionable and shady practices. At the heart of this turmoil is Dan Snyder, who has been involved in all of the Commanders' drama this off-season. Let's just say there's a good reason why fans are calling for his head.

The Commanders at least made one great move in the offseason, locking up star receiver Terry McLaurin to a brand-new deal. Head coach Ron Rivera praised the signing, calling it an “organizational” move. Here's his explanation as to why he said that. (via ESPN)

“He's an organizational signing,” Rivera said. “It impacts not just the football side but the business side. It tells people we want to retain young men of this stature; we want young men of this magnitude out there representing our organization.”

It's never a good sign if the biggest headlines surrounding your team are off-field drama. That's exactly what happened to the Commanders in the 2022 season, though. Dan Snyder's rebranding off the team was reviled by many fans. That was immediately overshadowed, however, by allegations levied against him by a House Committee about taking a cut out of league revenue.

Snyder has since been in more trouble from the aforementioned House Committee. The latest headline for the Commanders owner involve him dodging his subpoena. At this point, it's only a matter of time until Snyder gets punished, either by the government or the NFL itself.
