The Washington Football Team will have their starting QB back for a crucial Week 16 divisional showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. Per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post, Taylor Heinicke has cleared COVID-19 protocols and is line to play this weekend:

Heinicke missed Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, where Washington lost their second straight game, 27-17. At this point, the playoffs are a longshot for Ron Rivera's squad, but simply having Heinicke back in the mix gives them a fighting chance.

He last played on December 12th vs. Dallas as well, completing 11 of 25 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. On the season, the Washington signal-caller has a 66.5 completion percentage and has thrown for 2,931 yards. However, despite his 19 touchdowns, Heinicke has been picked off 12 times and sacked 28. Overall, he's done a relatively decent job in 12 starts this year after taking over the starting role for the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Washington definitely missed his presence against Philly, with backup Garrett Gilbert failing to throw for a single TD. At 6-8, Washington can definitely upset the cart if they beat Dallas on SNF. Having Heinicke back in the mix will certainly play its part in doing so. Let's hope the Football Team can break out of their rut.
