Denver Nuggets rookie Bol Bol was so good in his NBA debut against the Washington Wizards that he was “randomly” drug tested after the game.

Bol underwent surgery to repair a left foot fracture in January of 2019, so that’s why he fell to the Nuggets in the 2019 NBA Draft. The son of Manute Bol averaged 21.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.7 blocks per game last season at Oregon. He was selected by the Nuggets in the second round.

Before the 2019-20 season started, Bol said Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James was his favorite player growing up. The Nuggets rookie also revealed he watched a lot of tape of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Kristaps Porzingis.

“Actually, LeBron was my favorite player growing up,” the Nuggets youngster told Bryan Kalbrosky of Hoops Hype. “Kevin Durant is changing basketball with the way he plays. I’m a fan of Kristaps Porzingis. I also love Kyrie Irving. Those are the people I watch the most.”

Against the Wizards on Wednesday, Bol became the first rookie to have at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a preseason game in the last 20 years. The Nuggets have to be thrilled with the youngster's debut, especially considering the long layoff players had due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
