On Tuesday evening, Michael Malone and the Denver Nuggets celebrated their 2023 NBA championship with a ring ceremony before their season-opening game against the Los Angeles Lakers. During the ceremony, Malone addressed fans and floated the proposition of adding to the Nuggets' trophy case during the coming season.

“Last year was amazing. We got one ring,” said Malone. “Who wants another? Let's go get it. Love you.”

Nuggets fans understandably cheered in response to the coach's proposition.

Michael Malone and the Nuggets are coming off of one of the most dominant postseasons in recent NBA history. Denver never faced elimination in the four playoff series they played in the 2023 postseason, only being pushed past five games one time against the Phoenix Suns. Along the way, center Nikola Jokic established himself as one of the best big men in NBA history, if he wasn't there already, winning Finals MVP and leading a talented supporting cast led by point guard Jamal Murray, who was also electric throughout the playoff run.

Now, Denver has its sights set on ring number two. It certainly won't be easy, as notable offseason acquisitions around the NBA include Bradley Beal to the Suns, Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics, and Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, among others.

Still, with Malone as their coach and with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray leading the way on the court, the Nuggets enter the 2023-24 campaign in prime position to go for a repeat when the playoffs get underway next April.
