The Denver Nuggets shocked not only the Western Conference, but the entire NBA after going from a team knocking on the playoff door to outright contenders for the top seed. Monte Morris, who played a big role on the Nuggets' bench production, expects his team to once again fly under the radar heading into the 2019-20 season after several splashy signings the rest of the conference has made.

“There’s been a lot of crazy trades in the West, so, not a lot of people are talking about us,” said Morris during an NBA 3X event at the Philippines. “It’s nothing new, I know last year we shocked a lot of people. We knew going into training camp — we missed the playoffs by one game the year before — our goal was to make the playoffs, and when we got it rolling real early, the coach was like: ‘Forget making the playoffs, let’s try to get the 2-seed, let’s try to be a 1-seed!’ and that was our challenge.”

The Nuggets have made sneaky-good additions, bringing back Paul Millsap for the last year of his deal and trading for Jerami Grant, favoring from the Oklahoma City Thunder's rebuilding efforts.

“With everybody back and adding Jerami Grant from OKC, it feels like our chemistry is going to be very well and we know what we got to do to get past where we lost last year,” said Morris.

While Denver doesn't have the flashiest of starting lineups, the Nuggets are solid from one-through-five and boast bench depth unlike few others in the league. Morris has played a huge role in backing up starter Jamal Murray alongside with backcourt partner Malik Beasley, terrorizing most second units for the better part of last season.
