Denver Nuggets point guard Monte Morris believes his team's innate advantage over the newly formed threats in the league is as simple as the team chemistry they boast after being together through several years.

The Nuggets notably brought back the same core of players after falling a win shy of the NBA playoffs in 2018 and managed to muster the second overall seed in the West after taking the conference by storm.

“We got chemistry. We know what we got to do. These teams look good on paper, [but] you know, you still gotta figure it out,” Morris told the Philippine media on Wednesday, according to Luisa Morales of PhilStar Global. “We know what we're gonna get from every guy on our roster. We've been there before.”

Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the LA Clippers, the Houston Rockets, and the Portland Trail Blazers have reloaded in this offseason, hoping to be one of the many that take over what's expected to be a wide-open West. Yet Morris thinks that while the battles will be tough, chemistry will go a long way.

“It's gonna be tough, going up against those LA teams, Portland… [but] chemistry goes a long way in this league,” he said.

If the Nuggets can play anything like they did during the 2018-19 regular season, they will be bound to take one of the West's top four spots, even amid the heavy player movement that's taken place this summer.
